CU1 is happy to announce our fourth annual celebration of #GivingTuesday in Alaska! Today, our employees will be taking to the streets to give over $19,000 in donations and acts of kindness throughout our state.
Check out Credit Union 1 in the spotlight on KTUU’s MomsEveryday show! Our very own John Moceri, Consumer Loans Assistant Manager, stars in this interview about how to budget for a new vehicle. With snow on the ground, winter-ready vehicles are on a lot of peoples’ minds. We have tons of great advice to help your family enjoy an affordable new purchase, while preparing for a safe winter season!
The Food Bank of Alaska is a local organization that helps provide healthy meals for families in need throughout our state. Since 1979, they have been securing donated food for nonprofit agencies to distribute to hungry Alaskans. By donating to the Food Bank of Alaska, you’ll help positively impact the fight against hunger right here in our state!
Happy International Credit Union Day, Alaska! It’s our favorite time of year again, when credit unions around the world celebrate our unique “people helping people” purpose. This year’s ICU Day theme is “Dreams Thrive Here” – which is a pretty great differentiator that makes your local credit union a special place to be. Unlike banks, which serve customers and pass along income to select stockholders, credit unions exist to serve our member-owners. We’re not-for-profit, and everything we do is to better support YOU!
Shopping season has arrived in Alaska, which means you may be looking for more convenient and secure ways to carry your CU1 card. Luckily, Credit Union 1 has loads of ways to help you out! Our debit and credit cards contain smart chip technology to protect your information at the point of sale… but what if you didn’t have to carry that card at all?
In October, Credit Union 1 is raising funds for the Alaska AIDS Assistance Association (Four A’s) and their efforts to support and empower people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. This association is also working toward the elimination of HIV infection and its stigma in all Alaskan communities. Four A’s currently provides services such as subsidized housing and medical care information, which allows ill Alaskans to pursue employment and vastly improve their circumstances!
Boy we had a beautiful autumn in Alaska this year. Those golden leaves, sunshiny mornings and steaming mugs of pumpkin spice made it a season to be admired. Unfortunately (or fortunately, that’s OK too), winter is right around the corner – which means it’s time to prep our pocketbooks for cold weather! Thankfully, there are many money-saving steps you can take today to slash your bills over the coming months.

Credit Union 1’s Mountain View Branch hatched a plan to share their One for All spirit via a special community garage sale. With low prices and lots of fun, they paired Anchorage community members with affordable clothing, home goods and more – all priced under $5.00!
In September, Credit Union 1 is excited to once more raise funds for our unique One for All Alaska Fund. All donations to this fund will go to the specific CU1 branch community of your choosing! This is our last One for All Alaska fundraising month of the year, and we’d like to gather an exceptional amount of support for our fellow Alaskans during this opportunity. Together, we can do it!
